Accommodation for the 2016 Summer Institute is provided by UAF, Residence Life. Students and faculty will be housed conveniently on campus.
For residents of the UK and Europe who need to know the address of our accommodations:
Participants should plan to fly directly to Fairbanks, Alaska. The next nearest airport is in Anchorage, which is 360 miles (578 kilometers) away — a minimum 8 hour drive.
Participants should plan to arrive in Fairbanks before 3pm (15:00) on Thursday, 14 July 2016. A bus to the Opening Reception will leave campus promptly at 6:30pm (18:30).
PLEASE NOTE: If you need accommodations on the night of the 13th, please contact Alysa Loring (firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible, as we have only a few rooms reserved for this night.
The 2016 Summer Institute will take place in Fairbanks, in the heart of Alaska’s interior. Participants will have ample opportunity to explore the areas around Fairbanks. However, due to the great distance between Fairbanks and other locations, the institute will not include travel to such places as Anchorage, Seward, or Denali National Park. As a result, you may wish to extend your stay — either arriving before the Summer Institute begins on the evening of the 14th, or staying after the Institute ends on the evening of the 26th.
